The SPE Children’s Edible and Butterfly Gardens were created as a resource for educators and parents to teach our urban children about nutrition and the connection between our environment, animals, insects, and the food we eat. As one of the largest school gardens in Miami-Dade, it is a
used to study, chat over lunch, or sample a new herb or vegetable.
The SPE Garden only exists because of donations and volunteer time, so please keep our garden alive by donating funds, supplies, and / or you time.
Volunteers are needed both for hands-on maintenance and lessons in the garden, as well as organizing events, procuring supplies, creating signage and educational materials.
